Finding books

When you start your course you will usually be given lists of recommended books by your lecturers. You just need to check the Enterprise catalogue to find out if they are in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) or available online. Use the search box below. Just enter the author's surname and one or two words from the title:

For example:

To find: Card, R., Murdoch, J. and Murdoch, S. (2011) Real estate management law. 7th ed. Oxford: Oxford University Press.

Search for: card real estate

Finding printed books and e-books

Search the Enterprise catalogue to find specific books or books on a topic.

To find online book chapters on a topic search the Summon discovery service:


Why use dictionaries and encyclopedias?

Use encyclopedias:

  • for summaries
  • for lists of further reading
  • when starting a project

Search Oxford Reference

Use Oxford Reference to search across multiple dictionaries and reference titles, including bilingual dictionaries of French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. If you are off-campus, you may need to log-in to view your search results.
