Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) Cafe
Next door to London Road Campus, the excellent free museum includes a cafe serving tea and cake on china crockery. Seats around 25 inside and sometimes more in the garden or function room. Open Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 11-5pm, CLOSED MONDAYS.
Bar, hand-made sandwiches to order, hot food, but this space is reserved for customers buying food only.
Drinks and snacks in term-time. (Autumn 2022, intermittently open due to staffing issues.)
L14 Student Common Room
A small PC room with printer, common room area for study or eating your own food, with a kitchen behind containing kettles and microwaves.
CD201 in L22 is a Quiet Room reserved for prayer and contemplation.
L16 102 Social Room
A welcome is extended to research postgratuates upstairs,in the former staff room. There is seating, a sink, kettle and microwave. Refurbishment due Summer 2023.

BP petrol station, London Rd
Opposite the end of Redlands Road, the station's shop does Costa drinks, cold drinks, sandwiches and other food, although there is no space to eat in.
Royal Berkshire Hospital - food outlets
RBH hospital includes cafes and shops for its users. To reach shops, enter door off Redlands Road opposite London Road. Turn right and up a few steps. Turn right and go through the double doors on your left. Go up stairs/lift on your right to Level 2. At top of stairs, turn left through double doors to main corridor. Follow the sign to the shops by turning right and heading straight on. Whistlestop shop newsagents is opposite the Pumpkin Cafe, or go further for the M&S shop.
There are several PCs and study spaces inside the Learning Hub in L24, an Institute of Education-owned space holding resources for use in schools which may be borrowed for teaching practice.
Room G01 contains 6 study spaces, 2 with PCs. Access these study spaces via the Learning Hub during Hub opening hours. Enter by the door off the L24 foyer when the Learning Hub is closed.
Also in the L24 foyer is the University Library Book Drop where you can return University Library material.
