Introduction

The Study Advice team will be running webinars throughout the spring term to support you with all aspects of your study. From revising for your exams to preparing for your dissertations, these friendly webinars are designed for you to get some tips from the experts and put your studies on track for success.

After attending a webinar, you may also want to book a 1-2-1 session with a Study Adviser to discuss a particular assessment or issue in more depth. Appointments can be booked by completing this simple online form

For those that prefer online resources, we have a suite of video tutorials and study guides covering all aspects of study on our Study Advice pages.

Writing up your dissertation (Part 2): Methodology and results In this webinar, we will focus on the Methods and Results sections of the dissertation. What makes them stand out? What writing strategies are appropriate for each? We will review the function of these chapters, ways to structure them, and key elements to pay attention to when writing up. Book

Writing up your dissertation (Part 3): Discussion and conclusion  This session will examine the Discussion and Conclusions sections of the dissertation. We will discuss how to build on your research findings, place these into a broader context, and showcase your key research contributions. Book

5 steps to assignment success  This session will cover the key steps you should go through to get your best grades. It includes finding and interpreting key information from your assignment brief and course materials, understanding the format and style required, maintaining focus, and using your previous feedback.  Book

De-stress your academic writing Academic writing is a complex process of researching, planning, writing, and editing. It is also difficult and can be stressful! In this webinar, we will explore how to rationalise the writing process by breaking it down into five key stages and considering how much time to spend on each.

Academic Integrity Awareness Course Booking dates and times

This is the booking section for the Academic Integrity Awareness Course run by the Study Advice and Academic Liaison services.

To book a place on the Academic Integrity Awareness Course, select a date and time that suits you best from the list below. You will then receive a booking confirmation email shortly afterwards. The course takes place in the main library on Whiteknights campus, so make sure to give yourself enough time for any necessary travel. 

Please sign in to your student account before booking.

The booking forms for webinars and workshops closes 2 hours before the event.
