Visiting the Library

 Library exterior showing entranceYou are welcome to use the University Library for reference and private study (except during the University Examinations period,) without prior arrangement. This gives access to all our printed materials. We are currently unable to offer any walk-in access to our electronic materials. On visiting the Library you will be asked to provide photographic proof of identification, personal information about yourself and agree to abide by the Library rules. 

You can buy a Guest Campus Card at the Library Welcome desk. The card costs £1.50. You can add money to the card, using a credit or debit card, at the same desk. We regret that PC facilities are not available to visitors.

Search the catalogue before you visit

Search Enterprise, the Library catalogue, to find items you might be interested in consulting before you travel - you can do this from the Library homepage, or use the search box below; 


If the materials you would like to view are housed in our Closed Access or Off-Site Store areas, you will need to order them in advance of your visit - please see our website for more information on how to order your items;

Library membership and borrowing

Alumni are able to join the Library as an External borrower at a special discounted price. External borrower memberships last for 12 months and allow you to borrow five standard or term loan items.
