Finding journal articles and journals: Home

A guide to finding journal articles and journals available to University members..

Welcome to our guide to finding journal articles and journals.

Journals, and the articles contained with them, are one of the most important forms of published information in many disciplines. They are the best place to find up-to-date research and reviews of developments in a field.

Journal is the most commonly used word for this type of publication, but they can also be called periodicals, magazines, newspapers, or annual reports - in fact any publication which appears on a regular basis. You will mostly be interested in finding the articles contained in journals, as these will be on specific topics. However, you may want to find out if you can access a specific journal, or keep up-to-date with articles published in relevant titles, so knowing how to find a journal can be useful. This guide covers both.

Finding a specific journal article from a reference
