This is a Study Advice guide for students who are registered at another Higher Education Institution but will join / have joined the Study Abroad Programme at the University of Reading for a short period of up to a year.
This guide aims to help you get the most out of your studies here at the University of Reading. It highlights some of the features of UK academic culture that may be different to your home university. Being aware of these different expectations and requirements means you can anticipate and plan for them and gain the grades and the wider experience that you are looking for.
You will have opportunities to build on your strengths and to experience new ways of learning. As a result, it’s likely you will need to make some adaptations to how you study to meet different requirements here at Reading and this guide will give you some ideas on how to start doing this.
We value your feedback – if there is anything else you would like to see in this guide, or if you have any stories about studying at Reading that you’d like to share, please contact: studyabroad@reading.ac.uk.
This short guide has been created by Study Advice at the University of Reading, adapting guidance from our online study guides, and with help from the Library, the International Student Adviser, and the Study Abroad Office. |
