The Dual Language book collection in the Learning Hub can be found in the Modern Foreign Languages section of the Hub. It contains books in over 50 different languages.
The majority of books in this collection contain text in both English and the target language e.g. English /Polish. Whilst many of the texts are presented as picture books, the age range they are designed for varies, with some books aimed more at children in the Early Years, and others with an interest range of 8-10 years.
Some of the books in the collection are compatible with PENpal devices. A PENpal is a device that plays back audio when it touches printed books, posters, stickers giving a multisensory reading experience.
The Learning Hub also has a number of PENpals in stock which can be borrowed alongside the books, but these must be booked in advance. Please email learninghub@reading.ac.uk at least 7 days in advance if you would like to borrow one.
