CentAUR is an electronic archive where you are able to add and store your research publications and outputs.
It not only acts as a permanent, central record of your publications data, but it also increases the visibility of and access to your published research outputs. Content can be accessed and downloaded worldwide for free.
By adding your recent publications and your back catalogue of works you can raise your researcher profile and increase the potential for collaboration.
Authors are responsible for adding their own publications and research outputs to CentAUR. These include books, chapters, journal articles, published conference proceedings, reports, and arts outputs. Staff in the Research Engagement Team will check your entry for scope, duplication and publisher copyright permissions and will make it live for worldwide download.
To deposit publications in CentAUR, login with your University of Reading username and password, and go to Manage Publications. For instructions, download the Deposit Guide (see link below).
Once deposited in CentAUR, your entries are checked by the Research Engagement Team before being made publicly visible. This takes up to 2 weeks for publications dated 2021 or later. Older publications are a lower priority and may take much longer.

* The author's final accepted manuscript is the author's final draft. Usually this is a Word document, or a document composed in a publisher's template at the accepted stage. It includes all peer review corrections but has not yet been copyedited or typeset by the publisher. Most publishers do permit this version to be uploaded to a repository. Most publishers do not permit the publisher's PDF to be archived in a repository unless it has been published as gold Open Access. Research Engagement staff check the publisher's policy for each uploaded full text and set access or embargoes as permitted by the publisher. If they cannot find this information they will contact you.
You are required to add outputs published, or accepted for publication from 2021 onwards.
However, if these are back catalogue, rather than current, publications please be selective. Add only those publications which satisfy one or more of the following:

The ROSS tool is a bespoke application within CentAUR which contributes to the University's research development and assessment processes. It is self-contained within CentAUR and is visible only internally. Outputs must be live in CentAUR before they can be added to ROSS.
